33rd SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
Questions for the Week:
FIRST READING: DANIEL 12:1-3
The prophet Daniel foresaw a time of great distress and ultimate judgment for the living and the dead. Who supports you when you are feeling anxious or are deeply worried?
SECOND READING: HEBREWS 10:11-14,18
The author of Hebrews emphasizes Jesus’s death as the final offering for the forgiveness of sins, making us “perfect forever” in eternal life. What do you find most curious about the idea of being perfect in eternal life?
GOSPEL: MARK 13:24-32
Jesus speaks to his disciples about the signs that will accompany his Second Coming, even though only God the Father knows the exact time. How should one best prepare for this unknown future?

A Word from Fr Danny:
Christ says, 'Do not stop the children from coming to me.' Today, Bishop Richard exercises his sacred duty as the vicar of Christ (one who stands in for Him, as stated by the Second Vatican Council) by welcoming our candidates into the Catholic Church as fully initiated members through the conferring of the Sacraments of Confirmation and Holy Communion.
As today’s Gospel reminds us, the entire universe is subject to Christ’s power, and when we celebrate these Sacraments in communion with the bishop, there is a profound sense that all of creation is attentive to what is unfolding. Through the bishop, Christ gathers His chosen from the four winds.
Dear candidates, may the breath of the Holy Spirit linger long in your hearts.
- Fr Danny

THANK YOU TO OUR CLEANING TEAM!
A massive thank-you to our incredible cleaning volunteers. We tried to find out the names of all our wonderful cleaners, past and present, but they are far too many (and humble) to name individually. Please know how much your faithful service means to us. We are blessed to be able to turn up to immaculately clean facilities each week, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We know you do this service for Jesus, but it doesn’t go unnoticed or unappreciated.

INTERNATIONAL NEWS & EVENTS
The Pope’s Intention for November is for anyone grieving the loss of a child.
After a process of long discernment within the Church and in consultation with diacesteries and other various bodies within the Holy See, the monthly intentions for the year are decided. Pope Francis entrusts us, the faithful, his prayer network, with these intentions that express his great concerns for humanity and for the mission of the Church. It is an action plan to send us out each month, through prayer and mission, a proposition that invites us to build a more humane and caring world.
Mary, you who are Mother of all, welcome into your heart those who are going through the pain of the loss of a child. You know the pain of loss, on Good Friday, and the feeling of absence and silence in the waiting for the Sabbath. There are no words to fill the void, it is a goodbye that will always await the resurrection of the Sunday of glory. We believe in that day, as Mary did, and we await the definitive reunion. But while that is still to come, for those who suffer this pain, we ask for the Spirit of consolation, capable of giving life where there is death, and to set on the way those who have fallen. Give us the grace to be communities that shelter and support parents who have lost a child and who are living proclamation of the definitive life that will reach them. Amen.
Ahead of the 2025 Jubilee, Pope Francis has inaugurated a Year of Prayer.
