Easter Sunday
Questions for the Week:
FIRST READING: ACTS 10:34,37-43
In his speech, Peter emphasizes that he and the Apostles were chosen as “witnesses” to tell others of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. Have you ever told anyone why you believe in Jesus?
SECOND READING: COLOSSIANS 3:1-4
Paul encourages believers to focus on heavenly things, not earthly distractions, What is one earthly distraction I can let go of this week to focus more on my relationship with Christ?
GOSPEL: JOHN 20:1-9
We hear how Mary of Magdala, Peter and the Beloved Disciple initially react to seeing Jesus’ empty tomb. How do you share startling news with others?

A Word from Fr Danny:
The traditional Easter greeting of “Christ is risen!”, and its response, “He is risen indeed!”, highlight the central mystery of our faith. As St Paul tells us, “If Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is useless, and your believing it is useless.” The great news is that Christ rose from the dead, and our elect, who received the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Communion at our Easter Vigil, bear witness to this truth. May they continue to be strengthened in their faith, hope, and charity as they join us as full members of the Catholic Church.
I want to thank the many people who have given their time selflessly to the preparation and celebration of our liturgies. I pray that their efforts may be used by God to draw us all closer to Christ. May the grace, peace, and joy of the Easter season redound upon you and your families throughout this Easter Octave.
- Fr Danny
Stay with me. Remain here with me. Watch and pray.
As challenging as it is, walking with Christ during Holy Week is a core part of our discipleship. It is an act of love and friendship with Christ—a gift of staying present with Him during the most difficult and unsettling part of His journey. We do this because He has asked us to remain near Him, awake and alert. It is the offering of ourselves, the truest gift we have to give.
You are invited to engage with our interactive Holy Week Display in the foyer. Sit with Jesus at the Last Supper. Feel the weight of the Cross. Taste the bitterness of the vinegar He was given to drink.
